A central part of the Switched On Project is our team of Tutors, Support Workers and Volunteers who deliver the courses and get alongside the participants to support them.  We aim to recruit these people from the local community as far as possible to enable the communities and community organisations to improve their own capacity and sustainability.

Tutors are particularly central to the Project as they plan and undertake the courses for our participants, and ensure the courses are delivered appropriately in response to the needs of the group and individuals, addressing the barriers that the individuals face and working on building on their strengths.

We need Tutors with all sorts of skills but the most important are a genuine interest and energy to assist with individuals who face barriers to learning as well as teaching experience and qualifications, a high level of interpersonal skills, and an understanding of social exclusion.  A basic hourly rate is paid and the Switched On Project can provide the training and support to help you get new skills and experience, which could even help with job prospects.

If you are interested in getting involved and having a chat about our Project please contact a member of our team.
