WDA support SWITCH yet again

The WDA Wales Information Society team have showed their faith in SWITCH by providing an additional grant that will allow us:

· To install 6 wireless nodes at 6 of our centres. This will allow us to enable members to use the broadband from home and other locations within wireless range. The first “node” is up and running at the Bhatra Sikh with DJ Jas Singh in charge of output.

· To extend the idea of SWITCH to 5 new locations that may in time become SWITCH members. All Wales Saheli women’s organisation, the community and tenants’resource centre in Adamsdown, the Bangladeshi Welfare Association, United Welsh H A tenants community house in Grangetown and Cardiff Community HA tenants in Trowbridge. Adamsdown and the Saheli sites are up and running already.

· To develop a server that might allow us to organise face to face web cam conferencing between member centres. This could have a lot of knock on potential for service deliverers.
